Driver’s Licence Renewal

Renewing Your Driver’s Licence

As a qualified driver whose licence has expired, the process for renewal is a simple one.

Visit any of our locations and complete the necessary application form (T.R. 14 Form) and pay the prescribed fee. (The amount will be determined by the group of licence you hold and the period for which it is renewed) Once this is done, your new card will be printed and you will be on your way!

Do you know you can renew your driver’s license six months before it expires? However, the renewal only takes effect on the date of expiry of the old licence. If being done online, it can be done within 30 days of expiration and this is the new requirement for on-line renewal.

  • Driver's Licence Number,
  • The date of their first driver's licence (which is printed on the back of the (O/C) card) and,
  • Their desired email address.

Do you have a disability? If so, this does not necessarily mean that you will not be able to renew your licence. Under the Traffic Act, anyone whose disability is appropriately controlled can continue to hold a Cayman Islands driver’s licence.

Remember, it is an offence for a person to drive a motor vehicle on a road if he/she is not licenced or authorized by the appropriate authority.
