Site audience and purpose
Researchers and academics are the primary audience for this site. Documents are published from a wide range of research projects.
It is also intended that the site act as an educational tool to inform the public.
The site is divided into four main topics; namely:
- Drivers provides information about driving tests and issuing driving licences.
- Vehicles highlights the system of inspecting and testing vehicles and issuing vehicle licences.
- About Us gives details about the mission and responsibilities of the DVDL and provides contact information.
- Press Room provides a list of recent and past press releases related to the DVDL.
Additionally, there are six reference topics - About Us, News, Publications, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), Contact Us, and Forms.
Pages on the site conform to a standard format.
The banner menu provides links to the main topics and the reference topics from each page of the site. Click on the Government crest image to return to the homepage.
At the foot of each page is information on the date the page was published or last modified, the primary contact details for the Department of Vehicle and Drivers' Licensing, and other useful links, e.g. terms and conditions, access keys, feedback, etc.
The left column, except on the homepage, shows a local menu specific to the section of the site currently being visited. On many pages the right column shows Quick Links to other pages within the same section.
