International Driving

INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT

Regulation 3, Forms A and B in the Schedule 1 of the Traffic (International Circulation) Regulations, 2012

The requirements for the issuance of an International Permit under the Geneva Convention on Road Traffic and these are as follows: 

  • The person must apply to the Director in the prescribed manner.
  • The person must be at least 20 years old.
  • The person must satisfy the requirements of the Convention.
  • The Director can require the applicant to produce any other particulars.
  • The person must satisfy the Director that he holds a valid Cayman Islands driver's licence for the class or description of vehicle to be driven.
  • The applicant is resident in the Islands.
  • The permit is valid for twelve (12) months only.

In conclusion, once the applicant meets these requirements, an International Permit can be issued.
